Our New Church…

We have been going to our new church for a month now and have become members. The church is Sugaw Creek

Presbyterian Church. The building itself is a beautiful brick church sitting on a lovely lot surrounded by old trees. It is the oldest continual congregation in Charlotte dating back to 1755 (approximately).

Our pastor is great and has been counseling Mike and I. We have been attending the Wednesday night dinners and on Mother’s Day, Anna is being baptized. The congregation is very diverse and there is a traditional touch to the service which we like. There is a very strong prayer emphasis which is phenomenal, even allowing time during the Sunday service for the members to pray out loud. They have a handbell choir which adds much to the music.

The pastor has spoken to us both about more ways we can get involved but we are taking some time just to concentrate on our family right now and to really find our place there.

If you are ever in Charlotte, check out the services. It’s a great place.
